Who is a Christian? 
A Christian is a person whose speech & culture is christlike. Christianity is more of a lifestyle rather than a religion. It is written in the book of Acts 11:26 that "the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch", this is probably because they saw the reflection of Jesus in them. These characteristics include:

1. Peace-loving

As a representative of the true vine, you have to be cool with peace. When you love a peaceful environment, you will definitely have peace of mind. Be a peacemaker in your generation (Proverb 3:30). Do not be found cheering fights and causing rifts (Proverb 20:3).

2. Giving (needy, orphan, widow)

As a Christian. do not be stingy with your resources. Not only money but you can also give your time to help those in need, give clothes and food. If you have three pairs of trousers and your friend/neighbor has one torn and faded jean, do not hesitate to give (2 Corinthians 9:6-8). As a lady, if you have five blouses and you see another lady who wears one blouse that it is now a uniform. Be willing to give but do not give them the ugly materials. When you do this with a good heart, you will never suffer or lack, the lord says whatsoever you do to the least of your brothers that you do unto him.

3. Prayerful

A prayerless Christian is just like a walking dead man because he/she is opened to various arrows. What do I mean by arrows? I mean temptations, dangers, untimely death among others. Prayer is the believer's sword and the key to start enjoying the benefits of the true vine. Prayer is a way of communicating with the vine as his branches. The bible says in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that we should pray without ceasing. Pray every time, morning, noon and evening. 

4. Willing to learn

Humility is a distinct characteristic of Jesus. We have to be a resemblance of him in our attitude. He despises those with proud hearts. Do not retaliate at every little provocation. Do not use your achievements and position to make others sad. If you are a CEO or Manager, create a comfortable atmosphere for your employees/subordinates. If you are the wealthiest amongst your friends, do not let it get to your head because no one knows tomorrow. Have a humble heart and you will find favor with God and man.

5. Love without a condition attached

Have a loving heart like your father. Love as if you have never been hurt before (Mark 12:31). Our father Jesus himself is love so we have to exhibit and practice brotherly love for anyone you come across.

The Mystery of Honoring God

Reading through the book of Daniel chapter 1, I saw that Daniel dared to stand out from others. Not only did he purposed in his heart but also showed it in his action. You cannot serve God and remain like others, you cannot sacrifice your time and all for God and get the same results as others who do not even believe in God.
