Let Him Catch You - Trust in GOD

Image
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways submit to him and he will make your path straight. Proverbs 3:5 - 6  With my few years on earth, I have come to learn that only God is to be trusted. You might ask why I made this statement. Follow me on this journey of thoughts.  Trust is an attribute associated with the heart, the most fragile part of the body though some may not agree with me. This scripture got me thinking and I decided to write down some few thoughts. I have come to learn that trust is related with believing, it is related with love and submission. Human understanding and knowledge will let you down. Trust means to confidently rely on God knowing fully well that He has got your back. Sometimes, life gets overwhelming and we fall back to Jesus because we know He will catch us. I have watched trust broken, I have heard stories of the most faithful friend breaking trust. However, I have never heard of when my Lord ...

Can I Turn the Other Cheek? - Antidote to Revenge

Image
"But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also" - Matthew 5:39 Reading through the Gospel of Matthew, trying to understand my father's ministry Jesus Christ while on earth. I just got stuck on Matthew 5:39, and the verse emphasized itself in my heart. If someone slaps you on the right cheek , turn and offer the left cheek.  Wow! I just could not get over it. I tried to imagine it. I can not even remember the last time someone slapped me, but I know a slap on a grown lady's cheek will be harrowing.  The Bible says to turn to the other one instead. Hmmm, this scripture means a lot to us as believers, but we do not get it. We all know how painful it can be when being blamed for something we did not do or know anything about. We all know how annoying and hurtful it can be for someone to step on our toes, and all we can say is " the Lord bless you" instead of replying with a loud scre...

Finish Your Course With Joy

Image
Reading through the book of Acts, I was attracted by the perseverance and zeal that brother Paul had for souls. He was not offended that he was being mocked, he did not care if his own reputation or image was destroyed. All he wanted was for the name of Jesus to be known all over the nation and to finish his course with joy.  In Acts 17:16, Paul was uncomfortable in his spirit. He was not happy with the way people served other gods. As he was waiting for Silas and Timotheus, he saw how his GOD was despised and neglected. He was moved in the spirit with a passion for the souls of those in Athens . He was not ashamed to preach about his source, he was not shy to tell the devoted persons about his conviction. He continually told them about his master .  They called him a babbler and a spreader of strange gods but he kept on telling the news. Many modern-day Christians have not even been through a quarter of what brother Paul went through, and are already giving up on their father...

The Mystery of Honoring God

Image
Reading through the book of Daniel chapter 1, I saw that Daniel dared to stand out from others. Not only did he purposed in his heart but also showed it in his action. You cannot serve God and remain like others, you cannot sacrifice your time and all for God and get the same results as others who do not even believe in God. Daniel served the living God and God honored him and he was fairer than other children.  ldsliving.com You get many benefits when you honor God with your body, life, dressing, career, and daily lifestyle. Since the bible says your body is the temple of God, this means that anything that will defile your body should be avoided. Keep away from drawings and piercings that do not glorify God. Also, alcohol and smoking should be avoided because it destroys the immune system inside your body that God called His temple. Your daily life should honor God, what you say, and your actions should glorify God.  familydoctor.org In Daniel 2:19, Daniel desired God to know...

Choosing Heaven's Highway

Going through the book of Matthew, I got stuck on the verse that says “enter ye at the strait gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction…” I paused, and couldn’t move further. I have heard this verse for many years but it really didn’t sound this strong. Many a time, we try to run from telling our friends or those we meet on the evangelism field about the way to heaven. We even refuse to tell ourselves about this, we hide under fact that Jesus is a merciful father. We tell people about the love of Jesus and that Jesus loves them regardless of their lifestyle, which is absolutely correct and accurate. However, we must not shy away from telling people that …wide is the gate and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction and many there be which go in thereat” - Matthew 7:13.  Being a Christian and giving your life to Him doesn’t guarantee one will make heaven. The bible says in Matthew 7:14 that because strait is the gate and narrow is the way w...

Top 6 Facts On Prayer

Image
I was reading a book by American preacher Kenneth E. Hagin titled "Praying to Get Results" and I highlighted six main points that stood out for me and could help you too. We Christians tend to pray based on our emotions and with our own understanding which is why some of our prayers do not get answered or get answered late.  It is time we start to learn techniques of effective prayers . Growing our prayer life need to be our priority because prayer is the only way to survive the challenges and trials of the end-time. The ministry of prayer is very broad with a lot of ideas, facts, techniques, skills and methods. However, here are some important facts you might want to consider next time you go to the lord in prayer.  1. When praying for a change of circumstance, do not pray with "if".  2. You need to pray the right prayers in the right way to get the right results. 3. You only use "if" when praying a prayer of consecration and dedication. 4. It is always...

11 Ways to be an Immovable Christian

Values of God's Worshipper - Psalm 15: 1-5 Have you ever wondered how the great men of old  won the heart of God? To be a true worshipper of Jesus, there are eleven main things to do among others.  Lead a blameless life: do everything with the mind that God is watching then have the fear of God.  Do what is right. Speak the truth from sincere hearts: if you find yourself in a compromising situation, instead of you lying, just keep quiet/do not say anything. Refuse to gossip. Refuse to harm your neighbor. Refuse to speak evil of your friends. Despise flagrant (unrepentant) sinners. Honor faithful followers of the lord: respect the anointed of God no matter how young they may look. Never for once disrespect the Lord’s chosen ones because of familiarity.  Keep your promises even when it hurts: be a man/woman of your word. Never make promises you cannot fulfil, if ever you make such promises endeavor to fulfil it. There is a saying that “a promise is a debt” and yo...
